The Veterinary Medical Journal-Giza (VMJG) is printed Egyptian peer reviewed journal publishing original articles, reviews, case reports and short communications of a high scientific and ethical standard in the fields of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences. The VMJCU is hosted and published by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University (FVMCU) since 1954. The FVMCU is one of the oldest veterinary colleges; its roots go back to the year 1827. Two French veterinarians from Alfort Veterinary School were asked to open a school for veterinary medicine in Egypt. The school was affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and then moved to Giza to join Fuoad (Cairo) University in 1935; the years of study (including academic, para-clinical and clinical phases) increased to five years. In 1946, the school became a faculty. A large number of veterinarians in Egypt, Arab and African countries have been graduated since then. The Editorial board of the VMJG includes eminent multidisciplinary scientists whom specializations cover most of the fields of veterinary medicine and animal sciences. Peer reviewers from Egypt and other international scientists are always invited and asked to review all papers submitted to the VMJG.
