About the Animal and Poultry Research Center:

The Animal and Poultry Research Center was established on 18/4/1985 with the aim of conducting studies on the size and dimensions of animal and poultry feeding and care problems in Egypt and providing appropriate solutions with the nature of local conditions and contributing to the preparation and training of specialists in the field of animal and poultry care. It also cooperates with Scientific entities and similar research centers in the world in order to benefit from the advanced scientific information and methods and try to apply them in the Arab Republic of Egypt.


Vision

To be a distinguished productive and training research center that competes with advanced research centers to contribute to the advancement of scientific research and the preparation of a qualified veterinarian to compete in the local and regional labor market, and to meet the needs of college and university employees in terms of meat, eggs and dairy.



Mission

First: The field of scientific research

  1. Allowing faculty researchers to conduct their research and the practical part of master’s and doctoral theses in the center in a way that does not conflict with the productive aspect of the center.
  2. Conducting field trials for the products of pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of feed additives by contracting cooperation protocols with the aforementioned authorities as an activity to serve the community and to develop the resources of the center and the college.

Second: The field of production:

  1. Expanding the breeding of other types of animals and poultry to meet the college’s need of animal protein, eggs and milk.
  2. Establishing a sales outlet for the center in the college in accordance with the regulations governing this to sell the products of the center and other centers and the products of the production units in the departments of the college
  3. Cooperation with the Department of Health Control on Food to manufacture meat and dairy under the supervision of specialized professors.

Third: The field of training and guidance:

  1. Holding training courses for students and recent graduates in cooperation with the Graduates Follow-up Unit at the college in the field of animal and poultry care.
  2. Printing guidebooks for professors specialized in animal and poultry care at reduced prices and participating in agricultural and veterinary exhibitions to market the center's services and products.
  3. Holding scientific seminars and conferences for veterinary awareness and education.
  4. Providing the possibility of consulting and supervising the farms by contracting protocols with the college administration to develop the resources of the center and the college.

Services provided by the center:

  1. Making scientific and research protocols with feed additive companies in Egypt, as well as with feed factories.
  2. The center has a safe, healthy product of poultry meat for the employees and faculty members of the university.
  3. Training courses in the field of poultry and animal nutrition for veterinarians and agricultural engineers in the veterinary field.
  4. Joint scientific cooperation with the faculty members and the supporting staff in the work of the practical parts of the master’s and doctoral theses, as well as the research and the center.
